In 2006, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso chose “le château de Segrais” for the creation of the Kadampa Meditation Centre France, which opened in October 2008.

Kadampa Meditation Centre France (KMC France) is located in the peaceful setting of the ‘Château de Segrais’, in the heart of the Sarthe countryside.
It offers meditation weekends, guided thematic retreats, regular courses throughout the year. Several times a year, special events are organised, sometimes bringing together the entire French Kadampa Buddhist community.

These activities are open to all, beginners or more experienced, students, employees or retired, alone, in couple or in family, Buddhist or non-Buddhist. CMK France is a Buddhist community composed of nuns, monks and lay practitioners of all ages and backgrounds. All share the same desire to live with a peaceful mind and to share with others, Buddhists or non-Buddhists, an environment conducive to spiritual retreats.
CMK France is the national centre of the New Kadampa Tradition in France. It is part of the International Temples Project which aims to provide places dedicated to peace in major countries of the world.
It is possible to visit, walk, picnic or play in the park.

We are open Monday to Sunday from 9am to 6pm all year round except :
